Replenishing Your Locs During the Winter Using a Hot Oil Treatment

You’re not the only one feeling the brunt of winter…Your locs are feeling a bit of winter blues as well.

Maybe you’re experiencing a dry scalp or maybe you’re sighing at how dry your locs feel and look every time you look in the mirror.

Fortunately, there’s one solution that will lift you and your locs up:

Hot Oil treatments

Look, even though your hair is loced up, it still needs some tender, lover, and care to prevent dryness and dullness - especially during the winter months.

And hot oil treatments are a sure-fire way to give your locs everything they’re thirsting for.

Now, here’s our favorite way to renew locs with a relaxing hot oil treatment:

Give your locs a good wash

You can’t get to the root of anything if you don’t lather up. Right?

So, grab some shampoo like OOLI Beauty’s Cleanse Your Mane Natural Shampoo or Clarify Your Mane Clarifying Shampoo.

Warm up your oil

Get rid of your itchy and dry scalp with OOLI Beauty’s Bless Up Your Locs Nourishing Oil with Sorrel.

We also love this oil because it’s the perfect solution for promoting your hair growth and reducing split ends.

It also adds quite the shine to your locs.

Here’s how to use Bless Up Your Locs Nourishing Oil with Sorrel as a hot oil treatment:

Simply, heat up some boiling water and place your oil inside of a bottle - preferably a glass bottle.

Place your glass bottle in the boiling water and you’re good to go.

Oil Up Your Locs

After your oil reaches your desired temperature, go ahead and oil up your locs.

Be sure to start at your scalp.

After you’ve finished oiling up each loc, wrap up your locs and let them sit for at least 30 minutes in a conditioning cap.

In a pinch for time?

Sit under a dry for 15 minutes with your locs wrapped up in a warm towel.

Once your conditioning session is over, rinse all the oil out of your locs.

Be sure to use cool, refreshing water.

And that’s it!

Hopefully, these tips are helpful for you.
